Forged from Iron

When I got into my fifties I started taking health and fitness seriously.  A few years ago, I met a man 20 years older than me named Lyle. Lyle is not your normal “senior citizen”. Lyle is an ironman. You may ask, what makes Lyle an ironman? He is a man who swims 2.4 miles, bikes 110 miles, and then when all of us would need a nap, he runs 26.2 miles. This is in ONE DAY. We all wonder, how is this even possible for a normal person especially a person in his 70’s?  Well it even gets more interesting. He did it again at age 81. I don’t know if there is a moral to this story or if even us mere mortals understand what it takes to accomplish this. But the human spirit and drive is something that can’t be measured. In the end we all can’t be Lyle, but we can push ourselves a bit more.  So as far as fitness and life goes, dream big, take on challenges that you think are out of your comfort zone. God bless.  Lawman
